Welcome to my first blog post in which I would like to introduce the ZO Skin Health medical grade skincare range. I have been a ZO Skin Health Authorised Retailer since June 2022 and in December 2022, I became a ZO Skin Health Specialist. With over 35 years experience pioneering advanced skincare solutions, Dr Zein Obagi launched the ZO Skin Health brand in 2007. His core philosophy has long been to create healthy skin rather than simply treating skin disease and damage. Step 1 Getting Skin Ready The first step involves bringing skin back to its most healthy, balanced state, using the correct combination of a cleanser, exfoliator and toner that is best suited to your skin type.
Step 2 Prevent + Correct The second step employs a wide range of products and protocols aiming to help correct specific skin concerns from acne to rosacea and pigmentation to ageing, while also preventing further damage.
Step 3- Protect The third step is to protect the skin from future photodamage. ZO offers a range of physical and chemical sunscreens containing its patented Triple-Spectrum Protection® against sun and light damage.
Dr Obagi’s definition of healthy skin is that it should be soft, smooth, firm, even in pigmentation, hydrated, tolerant to the surrounding environment and disease free. Central to restoring perfect skin health is optimising the turnover of the top layer of cells in the skin (the epidermis), improving the skin’s barrier function which helps to lock in moisture and keep harmful irritants and pollutants out and increasing production and improving the function of collagen and elastin in the deeper skin layer (the dermis).
